Tour de Lights

Tour de Lights is presented by Visit Knoxville and Bike Walk Knoxville!

Due to COVID-19, Bike Walk Knoxville and Visit Knoxville regret to announce that we will be unable to host Tour de Lights in its traditional format this year due to the large crowd the event usually draws. We do however want to encourage people all across Knoxville to get in the holiday spirit by decorating themselves and their bike and taking a ride around local neighborhoods this holiday season to enjoy the holiday decorations by bike! The City of Knoxville’s Office of Neighborhoods and Office of Special Events will be collaborating to create a map of Knoxville Neighborhood Holiday Trails, which will be a useful resource to find the best places to explore. The trails are a safe and creative way to show off holiday spirit and have fun with your neighbors without increasing the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus.

Neighborhoods are encouraged to decorate their homes, porches, lawns, mailboxes, and driveways with a holiday theme. Participating neighbors are also asked to identify stand out items to list for a scavenger hunt! If you have a neighbor with a giant blow-up snowman, a decorated park gazebo, a Rudolf on the roof, or the like, make sure to add those details in your registration. As neighbors and children drive, run, walk, and bike through your neighborhood, they can look for these fun items and mark them off their list. Check back with us soon for more details about the Knoxville Neighborhood Holiday Trails!

The holidays are just around the corner, and we are so excited for our 2020 Tour de Lights Virtual Costume Contest! The contest will be open now through Friday, December 12, and winners will be announced on Monday, December 14. Participants will have the chance to win exciting prizes, such as tickets to the 2021 USA Cycling event, as well as gift cards and prizes from amazing local businesses!
