Join Us for Bike & Roll to School Day!
Bike & Roll to School Day is a International Day! This event is a great chance for students to set up healthy habits, foster family and community support, and have fun! Biking to school is a fun opportunity to observe neighborhood safety concerns and ask what can be improved to ensure all students have a safe route to school. Bike and Roll to School Day creates opportunities to encourage behaviors and change mindsets that inspire long-lasting, community-wide change. We hope to inspire our communities to be accessible and less dependent on automobile transportation!
This annual event celebrates the benefits of active transportation for students, families and teachers, including:
- Physical activity
- Student bike safety skills
- Community engagement with the local transportation network
- Cleaner air
- Reduced traffic congestion and driver speed near school
Bike Walk Knoxville has been participating in this event for years, and encourages everyone who is able to be a part of it! This event not only aligns with our goals of promoting safe walking and biking, but also allows diverse populations across Knoxville communities to come together to celebrate and experience active transportation. Participation can look like anything students biking to school from their homes to students meeting up at a communal place (like a park!) and biking to school from there.
Check back in the Spring for more information regarding this event!
